Book Signings & Award Nominations

Happy holidays, everyone! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here, and last week, I joined my talented wife, Amy Joyner Buchanan, at the St. Francis Day School Holiday Market. The annual event had a great turnout.  Amy sold her artwork, I signed copies of THE BLACKSMITH’S BOY, and we both had a wonderful day!

My next author event is on Saturday, January 17 in Mooresville (near Lake Norman/Charlotte) at Fred & June’s Books! I’ll be signing books from noon-3 p.m. If you are in the area, please come out and see me!

Finally, I’m honored to have received six nominations in the 2025 Indie Ink Awards. THE BLACKSMITH’S BOY is up for the following six awards:

  • Best book cover and cover artist (Abigail Wild)
  • Best friendship (Bok & Isabella)
  • Side Character MVP (Princess Isabella!)
  • Best mentor figure (Tovano)
  • Wittiest character (Kotarian, I’m figuring? He’s the resident jerk!)
  • Prettiest book interior (art by Tamara Horton).

Voting is now open, and you can click here to vote. Please scroll down to “THE Blacksmith’s Boy”–my book is listed under “T” not “B”! I have a number of author friends who also are nominated, so I’m rooting for them, too!
