Three New Anthology Stories!

Cover of Kaleidoscopic Quill, a butterfly themed anthology from Wild Ink Publishing

The wheels of publishing move mighty slow. It can test your patience, but sometimes, things you worked on months earlier can come together in a way that makes you happy.

That happened to me recently, as I had three short stories published within days of each other. Now, I wrote these stories in 2025, over the span of several months. But this is just how it worked out, and I’m fine with it:

  • “Codename: The Butterfly” – Kaleidoscopic Quill. This short story is set in the world of my upcoming novel, The Return of the Cerulean Blur. A teenage girl thinks a strange mutation, which has given her wings and the ability to fly, makes her a freak. But when her neighbors need help, she is the only one who can save them—and a hero is born. This anthology, edited by my friends Demi Michelle Schwartz adn Andie Smith, features butterfly-themed short stories, flash fiction, and poetry from 30 or so writers. And 50% of the revenue from sales will be donated to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
  • “The Tulip Farm” – KissMet Quarterly Spring 2026: Tiptoe Through The Tulips With Me. This was my first-ever straight-up romance story, and it was a lot of fun to write! It’s a little tale of second-chance love. My wife and I go to a pick-your-own tulip farm in Kernersville, N.C. every spring, and I thought that would make a nice setting for a sweet romantic story.
  • “A Siren’s Choice” – Saltwater & Ash. This story is a romantasy – a romance story with supernatural, or fantasy, elements. My friend and fellow author Desirae Gracyn curated this anthology, which is full of dragons, sea beings, and romance!

Anyway, check out these three anthologies – and not just for my stories! There’s a lot to enjoy in each of them.
