Hi, everyone! I just got back from signing copies of THE BLACKSMITH’S BOY at Box Turtle Books—a wonderful new bookshop in uptown Shelby, N.C.! This one was extra-special, since I grew up in Shelby and my Mom still lives there.

Owner Kaitlyn McNeilly is doing amazing things with this place. The store is well-stocked, with tags identifying local authors (like me!), and a warm, relaxing sense of decor. Box Turtle has only been open for a couple of months, but it already has built a loyal following—and I can see why!

Artist Tamara Horton, who provided the great interior illustrations in THE BLACKSMITH’S BOY, joined me at the event. It was great meeting a bunch of new readers, and I hope you enjoy the book! If you don’t have it yet and are in the area, Box Turtle has a few signed copies left, so go support this local business.

One moment stands out. A mom and her young daughter came up to the table. The mom said her seven-year-old daughter loves to read, and she wanted to meet a real author in person. Anyway, this absolutely made my day!

I should have more events to announce soon. Keep watching this space!

In other news, I’m hard at work on edits to my second novel, THE RETURN OF THE CERULEAN BLUR. Wild Ink Publishing editor Nicole DeVincentis is really helping me get this superhero novel into shape. Thank you so much, Nicole!
