THE RETURN OF THE CERULEAN BLUR is a book I started writing in early 2024, but it’s an idea that’s been kicking around my brain for years. What would a long-retired superhero’s life be like in middle age? Why did she quit? And what could make her put on the costume again?

But once I started figuring out Susan Murphy’s story, it became more than a superhero tale. A lot more.

Susan’s story is about a single mom struggling to reconnect with her teenage son. It’s about a person who had given up on finding love again getting a second chance at romance. And it’s about a good person’s journey to forgive herself for a terrible mistake she once made.

No one outruns their past. But with courage—and some support from her loved ones—maybe Susan can learn to live with hers and find happiness once more.
